Of course, it’s not just the skating that is there to be enjoyed, you can sip on some hot chocolate, take in the views that many of the ice skating rinks boast, or even check out the spectacular holiday windows whilst you are getting into the spirit of things.


1. The Rink at Rockefeller Center

This is one of New York City’s most celebrated attractions! 2. Lakeside at Prospect Park

Lakeside provides visitors of all ages with a range of fun activities inside Brooklyn’s signature urban oasis, Prospect Park. The state of the art facility boasts a skating pavilion with two rinks for ice skating.

3. Wollman Rink at Central Park

Skating on Wollman Rink is a winter tradition for New Yorkers and tourists alike, so many people have tied up their skates for the very first time on this ice. Ice skating is a long-standing and beloved tradition here in Central Park — as old as the Park itself.

With its romantic backdrop, Wollman Rink puts visitors beneath the magical New York City skyline by day, and its twinkling lights by night. You can see why Wollman has been featured in films such as Love Story and Serendipity.

Skaters and spectators can warm up at the snack bar serving assorted food and hot cocoa.

Please be advised that Wollman Rink is cash only, so go prepared for that.

4. Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park

​Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park is Manhattan’s winter wonderland. Enjoy the Holiday Shops, a pop-up rinkside food hall, and The Rink, the centerpiece of Winter Village and New York City’s only free admission ice skating rink.

This 17,000 square foot rink features free admission ice skating, high quality rental skates, and free skating shows, special events, and activities.

The Rink opens Saturday, October 27 at noon, and is open daily through the end of season 8am-10pm, weather permitting.

5. The Rink at Brookfield Place

A boutique ice skating experience in downtown Manhattan at Brookfield Place mall in New York City offering upscale ice skating programs for men, women, and children. Majestic views of the Statue of Liberty from the Hudson River will leave you with memories you will never forget! Located right outside the Winter Garden, you can enjoy skating on the 7,350-square-foot rink, whether you are a beginner, a novice or an expert skater.

6. WWII Veterans War Memorial Ice Skating Rink

It may be a trip to get to this ice rink, but is totally worth it. The scenery is amazing (Clove Lakes Park boasts some of New York’s few remaining wetlands), and the rink is suitable for all ages.

7. Lasker Rink in Central Park

Lasker Rink is hidden away among the trees of Central Park (enter at 110th Street and Lenox Avenue). It is a swimming pool in summer, and in the winter, it converts into an ice rink for year round fun. If you are lucky enough to have a winter birthday, Lasker Rink can also host your party.
