La MaMa Kids is excited for our next event
A Workshop with Heather Henson & Friends
Followed by a performance of her piece,
Ajijaack on Turtle Island
February 11 & 18, 2018 @ 11am
Join Heather Henson in a playful exploration of the endangered Whooping Cranes of North America. This workshop illustrates the way Indigenous people participate in the dance of the crane and reveal the interconnection of the ecosystem shared by cranes and humans. Children create crane puppets, learn about migrational patterns, journey through the flyway and finish with learning crane dances.
Participants of all ages will delight in the process of building stronger connections with our planet, and with themselves and others
After the workshop join us for a craft building fair and stay a little longer to see the IBEX Puppetry production of Ajijaak on Turtle Island at 2pm. We will offer a special discount for La MaMa Kids participants.
Heather Henson is a puppet artist, producer, and advocate for the art of puppetry.
