Event Description

Mozart for Munchkins is so excited to collaborate with Matthew Rybicki to present Jazz for Juniors!

Matthew has performed in the orchestras of Broadway’s “The Lion King,” “Aida,” “On the 20th Century,” “The Color Purple,” and the Radio City Christmas and Spring Spectaculars, featuring the Rockettes.

An adept educator, Matthew is an artist/instructor for Jazz at Lincoln Center where he developed and taught the inaugural bass course in the Essentially Ellington Band Director Academy. He has also been the Music Director for several educational performance initiatives, including Jazz in the Schools and hospital tours in conjunction with Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ Department of Services for People with Disabilities. In addition, Rybicki was a program coordinator for Midori and Friends and has led musical workshops at both The Whitney Museum of American Art and The Guggenheim, where he designed and presented educational performances that incorporate jazz with fine art.

Mozart for Munchkins creates a relaxed, fun atmosphere in which families can experience and enjoy music! Children of all ages are welcome to roll, crawl, squeal, and dance to their hearts’ content, while parents, grandparents, and caregivers can sit back and unwind. While the setting is informal, the programming remains first rate; from Bach to Bernstein, Beethoven to Barber, Mozart for Munchkins features outstanding works performed by exceptional musicians—an unforgettable experience for the whole family!

Kids under 12 are free!

Seating is available in chairs for the adults and blankets are laid out on the floor for our munchkins to crawl, wiggle, and dance around the musicians!

Photographs will be taken during the performance. If you do not want photographs of you or your munchkin(s) taken, please send us an email or speak with us before the concert.
