Woodland Discovery Kit in Central Park
Visit The Wild Garden: Discovering Central Park Woodlands exhibit and start exploring the North Woods on your own by borrowing a North Woods Discovery Kit stocked with binoculars, a hand lens, and flora/fauna guides. Accompanying adult with valid ID required. Purchase an optional Discovery Journal for $2 for a one-of-a-kind woodland adventure. Recommended for ages 8 – 12.

Animal Encounter at Prospect Park
Curious as to how “Snappy” the turtle got her name? Want to watch the snake gobble up a mouse? Join one of our trained staff in learning more about the animals in the Audubon Center’s collection. Learn what it takes to care for these amazing creatures and even assist in an actual feeding. There will also be opportunities to get up close and personal with our box turtle!

Come have fun in nature. A Naturalist will lead children and families to areas near the Audubon Center, where you can be active and learn about the nature that is all around us.
LITTLE NEW-YORKERS
Held in the cozy Barbara K. Lipman Children’s History Library, this program introduces New York and American history to the littlest New Yorkers with age-appropriate themes and engaging hands-on activities. Each class includes story readings, time with historic toys, free exploration, a special Little New-Yorkers hello song, and a related craft project.
Parent’s Night Out Pajama Party (with Project Playdate)
BirthFocus understands the process involved in choosing the right doula to join women and their families on a most intimate experience, the birth of a baby! At this FREE “Eat, Drink, DOULA” open houses, they give pregnant women, and their partners, a chance to learn more about their doula practice and to connect intimately with several doulas through one on one interviews.

Pippi
“Pippi” is a fresh retelling of the classic “Pippi Longstocking” tales by Astrid Lindgren, adapted for the stage by award winning playwright Zakiyyah Alexander. The production features nearly two dozen hand-made marionettes crafted by puppeteers from the Swedish Cottage under the supervision and expertise of master builder Addis Williams. Times vary.
