We can’t quite believe that Spring Break is just around the corner – especially given the winter weather we have had of late. So, if you are planning on sticking around New York City for the break, then you will want to check out these fantastic camps….
The Fashion Class
Join The Fashion Class for a day of sewing and fashion design camp during Spring Break! Children ages 6-12 will learn to sew wearable garments on a real sewing machine plus create trendy accessories and sketch fashion. Our camp runs during the March private school spring break, March 20th-24th & 27th-31st, and the April public school spring recess, April 10th-14th & 17th-21st, between the hours of 9am-5pm (half days are available in April).
Each day breaks down into five classes with experienced instructors (and our CPR & First Aid certified TFC staffers) who work in the fashion industry. Small class sizes allow each camper to get the attention and tools they need to create.
We’ll start the morning off with fashion illustration and then a special activity (for example: we learn interactive fashion history, explore textile science or have a fashion model teach us how to walk the runway). After lunch we learn how to create our own fashion brands, then move on to accessory design. Next it’s time to sew in our fully equipped sewing studio where we make real clothing. Campers take home everything they’ve created and are welcome to take one day or more days of fashion camp.
