Bronx Zoo is an excellent zoo. If you visit on a Wednesday they have a pay what you want day so it is a great way to see the Zoo for any budget. They have an excellent viewing of the Sealions being fed, which runs daily. Give your kids a day to remember whilst enjoying all of the fabulous and sometimes exotic animals.

Take your little explorers to The New York Botanical Garden
The New York Botanical Garden is the perfect place to bring your family at any time of the year. There are daily hands-on, interactive experiences and activities for kids of all ages – and the adults can enjoy the fun too!
Also on offer are themed outdoor galleries, a natural wetland and two mazes just for kids. Guided activities take place every afternoon starting at 1.30pm and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. You can also find school holiday activities and you can even choose here to host your birthday party.

Make it a family affair at the Bronx Museum
Family Affair is the Bronx Museum’s seasonal afternoon family friendly program which aims to build on the special bond between parents/guardians and their children (5 to 11 years old).
The Family Affair program changes with great frequency so best to check out their website to keep up to date. The events range from hands-on activities which have been developed in collaboration with teaching artists, performances, guided tours, screenings, and many other fun things thrown in!

This space is tranquil and beautiful. Let your kids enjoy nature in this wonder setting. Wave Hill’s vibrant landscape is said to be one of the most beautiful spots in New York City. Bring out your nautical side on City Island
With seafood restaurants a plenty here, this mile long island is more than just for eating. It is home to City Island’s Nautical Museum. Why not bring your children up to date with New York’s colorful nautical history then let them have a well deserved play at The Children’s Park. Get your skates on at Mullaly Skatepark
If your little ones are budding skateboarders then head to this park. Older kids may be in the majority here but if you sign a waiver and your precious one is wearing a helmet, knee and elbow pads and wrist protectors, they can have just as much fun! Fresh air and exercise in abundance here.

Saddle up at Bronx Equestrian Center
Bronx Equestrian Center is a full service equestrian facility located in Pelham Bay Park. Western and English styles of riding are available for all levels of experience and interest.
